Two Important Events

Pax Christi would like to invite you to two important events:

1 Palm Sunday. Pax Christi is organising an ecumenical service in Wesley Church, 148Lonsdale Street at 1.15 to precede the rally at the State Library, Swanston and La Trobe Streets, and silent march at 2 p.m. Both events focus on Afghanistan and the need to get troops out so as the Afghans can begin to rebuild their shattered community.

We are fortunate in having Deborah Storie who has spent four years living in Afghanistan to speak at the service.

2 Many of you attended the Forum on Afghanistan last October.

We are holding second forum on 11 April which will focus on the need to get Australian and other foreign troops out of Afghanistan. We also hear of real possibilities for building peace and restoring community at the local level which need our support. As this is an election year in Australia we want o develop a network and a strategy for bringing Afghanistan to people’s notice and to promote public debate.
